Calvary Baptist Church is comprised of people who have accepted Jesus Christ as Personal Savior, have been baptized by immersion subsequent to conversion, and are in agreement with the doctrine, standards and government of the church.
To unite with Calvary Baptist Church:
1. INDICATE YOUR DESIRE
You may speak to one of the Pastors or Deacons to set up an appointment to share your testimony of salvation. If you have not attended a Foundations Class we would like you to do so. Just ask and we will direct to where one is being held.
2. ATTEND THE FOUNDATIONS CLASS
Classes are held periodically throughout the year on Sunday mornings during the Sunday school hour and occasionally on Sunday evenings before the evening service. These classes are taught by the pastoral staff.
3. READ THE CHURCH CONSTITUTION
A copy will be given to you or at your request (we can mail or e-mail it to your home.) A copy of the church constitution is also posted on our home page at www.CBCofCT.org.
4. BE INTERVEIWED
At your request, you can setup an interview with the Pastor and Deacons. This can also be arranged during the Foundations Class. At that time, they will ask about your conversion and answer any questions that you may have about Calvary Baptist Church. The Pastor and Deacons will then vote on your qualifications for membership and then recommend you to the church congregation for membership.
5. BE BAPTIZED BY IMMERSION
If you have not been baptized by immersion subsequent to your conversion to Christ, you will be given instruction during the Foundations class. The Senior Pastor will schedule a baptismal service on a Sunday evening.
6. VOTED INTO MEMBERSHIP
In a subsequent Sunday morning service, your name will be presented before the congregation for a formal vote and will be given the right hand of fellowship welcoming you into membership at Calvary Baptist Church.
7. BECOME ACTIVE
Become active in the varied ministries of Calvary Baptist Church and use the spiritual gift(s) God has given you.
If you have any questions concerning membership, please call the church office. We will be happy to respond to your questions.
